What is the HALO® laser?
The HALO® laser is a groundbreaking hybrid fractional laser—the world’s first—that combines two different wavelengths in one pass to treat both the surface and deeper layers of your skin simultaneously. It delivers an ablative 2940 nm wavelength to efficiently resurface the epidermis, along with a non-ablative 1470 nm wavelength targeting the dermis to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture and pigmentation.
By treating these layers at the same time, HALO® gives you powerful results—with ablation-like effects and significantly less downtime than traditional ablative lasers.

Who is a good candidate for HALO®?
The HALO® laser is ideal for adults who want to refresh their skin without the need for surgery. It’s especially effective for:
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Sun damage, discoloration, and age spots
- Enlarged pores and uneven skin texture
- Acne scars
Most patients see strong results in just 1–2 treatments (versus 5–6 sessions often needed with older, non-hybrid lasers).
How does the HALO® laser treatment work?
HALO® works by delivering dual wavelengths to the same microscopic zones to remodel both the outer and inner layers of your skin:
- 2940 nm ablative wavelength precisely vaporizes damaged epidermal tissue.
- 1470 nm non-ablative wavelength penetrates deeper to promote collagen remodeling and address deeper sun damage and pigmentation.
The HALO® handpiece includes advanced tools like skin-mapping software, motion tracking for even energy delivery, and Dynamic Thermal Optimization, which automatically adjusts laser power based on your skin’s temperature for maximum safety and comfort.
What can I expect during treatments?
Your MD TLC™ provider will start by applying a topical numbing cream before the treatment begins. During the session (typically 30–60 minutes), you’ll feel a warming or prickling—cooling in the handpiece helps keep you comfortable.
Motion tracking ensures uniform coverage; you’ll notice visual and audible feedback (like a speedometer) guiding your MD TLC™ provider for optimal results.
How soon will I see results?
Improvements can be seen within days. Redness and a slight bronzing or peeling may occur, but recovery is much faster than with traditional ablation treatments. Over the next several weeks and months, collagen continues to rebuild—leading to smoother texture, tighter skin, and a radiant, even tone often referred to as the “HALO Glow.”
Is HALO® safe and effective?
Yes! The HALO® laser is a clinically validated and precise treatment. It allows for fully customizable settings based on your skin’s needs—so it’s safe across a variety of skin tones and types when used by a qualified provider. It’s also highly efficient—HALO® can deliver results in just a few sessions with less downtime.
