What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable treatment that will reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and deep lines by relaxing facial muscles, so wrinkles can soften and diminish. The active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, has been FDA approved since 2002. This neurotoxin freezes communication between nerves and muscles by blocking the signal path. As a result, the muscles no longer contract as intensely.

What can I expect during treatments?
During your consultation, Dr. Quibell will meet with you to understand your aesthetic concerns and identify a treatment plan that will maximize your age-defying goals. Then, BOTOX® is injected through fine needles in targeted areas to address wrinkles, forehead lines, glabellar lines (between your eyes), crow’s feet, creases on the bridge of the nose and upper lip. Dr. Quibell may offer patient-controlled Pro-Nox™ or apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the session. The actual procedure time is less than 10 minutes and you are able to return to normal activity immediately. For optimal results, it is preferable to postpone exercise or strenuous work-outs for 2 to 4 hours post treatment.
How long does BOTOX® last?
Real results may be noticeable within 24 to 48 hours, with maximum efficacy apparent at two weeks, with results lasting up to 4 months. Larger doses (units) have a longer duration.
