Cellulite
What are the Causes of Cellulite?
Cellulite occurs in almost all women over the age of 35. It is caused by fat cells below the skin surface that bulge up and cause an irregular (or granular) appearance to the skin. This change occurs as the fibrous bands below the skin loosen. Treatment is targeted at firming up the fibrous bands as well as reducing the fat below the skin (subcutaneous fat).
What are the Treatments?
Radiofrequency technology with precise control of temperature and depth of energy allows us to impart a structural change to the skin and fat which improves the appearance of cellulite. A series of 6 treatments, plus maintenance, is typically recommended. Some patients require laser-assisted liposuction prior to treatment.
